Situated on the northern end of the Wirral Peninsular, the borough of Wirral lies across the River Mersey from Liverpool and is home to over 300,000 residents.
The borough consists of both rural and urban areas, offering a variety of diverse visitor attractions. Surrounded on three sides by two rivers and the Irish Sea, Wirral can offer many beautiful country and sea-side locations for visitors to relax in and ramble through.
Wirral's unique coastal areas offer unrivalled views, a multitude of water-sports and even the opportunity to watch the local seal population at play. Inland too there are stunning scenes aplenty, from the 400 acres of picturesque parkland that is Arrowe Country Park to the leafy groves and tranquil lakes of Birkenhead Park.
The area also offers many retail and leisure opportunities in its bustling urban centres, from busy high streets to popular food and music festivals.
